ID Card Scanner Online

Scan the front and back of any ID card into a single PDF. Perfect for driving licence, passport, Aadhaar, PAN, employee ID or student ID — free, browser-only, no upload.

Both sides of your ID on one PDF page

Government forms, KYC uploads, bank onboarding, university admissions — they almost always ask for a scan of your ID card showing the front and back on a single sheet. This tool handles it in three taps: front, flip, back. The result is a single PDF page with the two sides stacked, sized to fit A4 and ready to email, upload or print.

Works for every kind of ID card

  • Driving licence — front (photo + details) on top, back (address, endorsements) below
  • Aadhaar card — front (photo, name, UID number) plus back (address, DOB)
  • PAN card — usually front only, but if the issuer put anything on the reverse, both fit
  • Passport data page — for consular submissions that need both the info page and the signature page
  • Employee / student ID — front (photo) and back (barcode / emergency contact)
  • Credit / debit card — front and back for disputes or lost-card reports (mask the CVV first!)

Privacy — nothing leaves your device

ID cards contain the most sensitive personal data anyone owns: photo, date of birth, address, ID number, sometimes biometric references. Every other online ID scanner uploads your photos to their servers, which is a real risk. This one runs entirely in your browser using standard web APIs — the camera capture, the auto edge detection, the compositing and the PDF export all happen locally, on your device. No file is transmitted to us or to any third party.

Tips for a clean scan

  • Put the card on a plain, dark surface — dark table or notebook works well. Auto-detect picks up the card edges much faster.
  • Hold your phone directly overhead and about 15–20 cm away. Fill the frame with the card but leave a small margin.
  • Use natural light or a bright overhead light. Avoid a single hard shadow across the card — if you can't escape it, the Auto filter removes shadow automatically.
  • Enable AUTO capture so you don't need to tap the shutter — the scanner fires once the outline holds steady for a moment.

Prefer a single-side scan?

Only need the front of the card? Switch to the Document tab in the camera view, or use the regular scanner. It captures one shot per PDF page — perfect for a PAN card, admit card or business card.

Frequently asked questions

How does the two-side scan work?
The scanner captures the front of the card first, then prompts you to flip it and capture the back. Both images are composited onto a single portrait PDF page (front on top, back below) so the two sides live on one sheet.
Are my ID scans uploaded anywhere?
No. All camera capture, image processing and PDF generation happen locally in your web browser. No file is sent to our servers or any third party — the whole point of this tool over an app is that your ID data stays on your device.
What formats can I download?
PDF (default) with both sides on one page. You can also download the current view as a JPG from the review step if you need just the image.
Can I use this for KYC and government forms?
Yes — the output is a standard A4 PDF that every KYC system, bank portal, and government form we know of accepts. It has no watermark and no branding.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Any modern browser with camera access works — Safari on iOS, Chrome on Android, Firefox, Edge, Brave. Tap "Use camera" and allow access.
